Copy tables from one database to another in SQL Server

I have a database called foo and a database called bar. I have a table in foo called tblFoobar that I want to move (data and all) to database bar from database foo. What is the SQL statement to do this?

How do you migrate an IIS 7 site to another server?

I'm wondering what is the best practice for moving a website to another server (along with all settings, etc.)

  • Manually recreate the site on the new server (not maintainable for obvious reasons)
  • Copy the applicationHost.config settings file
  • Use appcmd to make a backup and restore
  • Use MSDeploy to publish the site on the new machine
  • Use a 3rd party tool

Just wondering what others' experiences have been.

Can't migrate database after scaffold. Section 2.2 Ruby on Rails Tutorial Michael Hartl

I'm working through the Hartl ruby on rails tutorial (section 2.2), and I'm having trouble migrating the database. Everything seemed to be working, and then I ran rails generate scaffold User name:string email:string Afterwards I tried to run bundle exec rake db:migrate and got the below error message:

How do I preserve installed applications when migrating Ubuntu to another platform?

I'm looking at maybe moving from an older AMD64 to a new Intel dual-core which is 32 bit. Installation isn't a problem but can I transfer all the installed apps? I haven't been able to find anything so far on Google except where the migration is to a similar platform and file-system. I won't change the filesystem but the platform will be different. Is there something on the lines of the "World" file in Gentoo?

Moving Git repository content to another repository preserving history

I am trying to move only the contents of one repository (say repo1) to another existing repository (say repo2) using the following commands;

  1. git clone repo1
  2. git clone repo2
  3. cd repo1
  4. git remote rm origin
  5. git remote add repo1
  6. git push

But its not working. I reviewed the other similar post but i only found moving the folder not the contents.

Meteor how to perform database migrations?

How do you perform database migrations with Meteor? With Ruby on Rails there is ActiveRecord::Migration. Is there an equivalent mechanism in Meteor?

For example, I make an app with some user data. I'm storing the data in Mongo using a JSON format. The app changes, and the JSON database schema needs to change. I can write a migration method to change the schema, however, I only want this to run if the server database is out of date.

How to 'switch' from MySQL to Amazon RDS with minimal application impact?

Amazon officially states: "Amazon RDS gives you access to the full capabilities of a familiar MySQL database. This means the code, applications, and tools you already use today with your existing MySQL databases work seamlessly with Amazon RDS."

I don't get this. Amazon RDS is accessible via web services and there a client libraries (like the one for .Net).

So if I have an existing .Net application that uses a DAL which in turn queries MySQL, how can I make the same DAL talk to the Amazon RDS (via the web services). Or am I missing something here?

How to migrate from Gallery to HorizontalScrollView & ViewPager?

I need simple control for icon choosing on Android 2.2 and higher.

But how to migrate easy? How to use this classes and controls in this case? I've try to find complete example for this subject, but I can't find it.

How to change schema of multiple PostgreSQL tables in one operation?

I have a PostgreSQL 9.1 database with 100 or so tables that were loaded into the 'public' schema. I would like to move those tables (but not all of the functions in 'public') to a 'data' schema.

I know that I can use the following to move 1 table at a time.

ALTER TABLE [tablename] SET SCHEMA [new_schema]

Is it possible to move all of the tables to the new schema in one operation? If so, what would be the most efficient way to accomplish this task?

My Django version is 1.5.1, while my south version is 0.8.4

The thing that troubles me the most is that the module django.db.migrations is nowhere to be found.

Any ideas?

Autotask is the name of the db. Please what am I doing wrong?

Note: even with the warning the wizard let me click next, but the next screen is supposed to list schematas, but as it is empty I can't continue.

Thanks in advance. Pablo

TFS shelveset migration from one branch to another

I have to migrate the shelveset created in one branch say "development" to another say "release". so that I can directly merge the shelveset then to release which was created for development branch.

the command I have used is:

tfpt unshelve "shelveset name" /migrate /source:"$...development" /target:"$...Release"

it is showing this error:

unable to determine the workspace
